Guggul has the following properties:

• Rasa (taste) is pungent (Katu) and bitter (Tikta).
• Guna (physical quality) is light (Laghu), dry (Rooksha) and clarifying (Vishada), tiny (Sukshama) and moving (Sara).

• Vipaka (effect) is sharp (Katu).
