“I’ll just let everything happen,” said Jeanette Augusto when she traveled to Sundern in Westphalia to meet Frank Lotz. “I’m in a good mood and agreeable to everything, so everything can only go great.” The state-certified gymnastics and yoga teacher was drawn in the last MAP raffle. Her prize: cooking and enjoying a meal together with Ayurveda star chef Frank Lotz. The original winner, Tanja Beratz, was unable to claim the prize due to her pregnancy.

When she won, Jeanette Augusto first felt "pure joy. My heart was truly overflowing with happiness. My thoughts immediately settled into my ‘heart space.’" Together with her mother Anne and friend Sonja, she went to the big Ayurveda cooking event at the end of May.

The cooking event took place directly at Frank Lotz's house, who accompanied his guests through the day with great joy, experience, and warmth. Together, they prepared a delicious Ayurveda gala menu, which Frank Lotz had specially composed for this particular occasion.

"The ladies brought good humor – and their good humor spread to me. The 'right' people came to my house today. It was a great day," Frank Lotz enthused about his guests.

In addition to cooking, the experienced Ayurveda chef, who also offers training for hotel and restaurant kitchens and cooking classes, answered many questions from his attentive listeners and revealed important fundamentals of Ayurveda, the "science of life," as well as Ayurvedic cuisine. For instance, that one should always eat the right food at the right time of year. In spring, for example, food should be light. In summer, the diet should have a cooling effect, and in autumn/winter, it should be warming. The Vata type needs more "oily" food, the Pitta type more "cooling" – not necessarily eating something cold, but food to reduce internal heat. Kapha types need some "movement." One should cook according to type and season; nutrition should be light and easily digestible.

The menu included Papadams with Cucumber Raita, Daal, Tomato Chutney, Cauliflower Curry, Mango Lassi, and as a grand finale, the "Heavenly Cream Shri Kandt" (to the recipe). The culinary delights had a lasting effect. "Every cell in my body is dancing and saying mmmhhh," smiled Jeanette Augusto, "super, super delicious, a truly wonderful experience. We feel richly blessed."
