Tip 1: The right water for your constitution
It is not without reason that the Ayurvedic hot water cure is particularly well-known and popular. Water is both a vital source of life and a purifier. Boiling further enhances the energy and quality of the water, helping to stimulate your ‘digestive fire’, Agni, for example. Simply boil water in an uncovered saucepan for about ten minutes in the morning, pour it into a thermos flask and drink small amounts of hot water regularly throughout the day.
Here’s our ‘30-day tip’ for you to try out: why not tailor the way you prepare the water to your constitution or dosha type (Vata, Pitta, Kapha)? Here’s how to do it:
Warm water for the Vata type Ingredients- 2 Litres of water
- 3 Mint leaves
- ½ Tsp fennel seeds
- ¼ Tsp marshmallow root
Method
- Boil the water for 5 minutes
- Take off the hob
- Add the spices
- Pour water into a thermos flask
- 2 Litres of water
- ¼ Tsp fennel seeds
- 2 Rosebuds
- 1 Clove
Method
- Boil the water for 2 minutes
- Take off the hob
- Add the spices
- Pour water into a thermos flask
- 2 Litres of water
- 3 Basil leaves
- 2 Thin slices of fresh ginger
- ¼ Tsp cumin
- ½ Tsp fennel
- Boil the water for 5 minutes
- Take off the hob
- Add the spices
- Pour water into a thermos flask
