Tip 1: The Right Water for Your Constitution

It's no coincidence that the Ayurvedic hot water cure is particularly well-known and popular. Water is both a vital life-giver and a cleanser. Boiling increases the energy and quality of the water, for example, to stimulate your "digestive fire" Agni. Simply boil water in an open pot for about ten minutes in the morning, pour it into a thermos, and regularly drink small amounts of hot water throughout the day.

Our "30-Day Tip" for you to try: Adjust the preparation of the water to your constitution or your Dosha type (Vata, Pitta, Kapha). Here's how:

Warm Water for the Vata Type Ingredients
  • 2 l water
  • 3 mint leaves
  • ½ tsp fennel seeds
  • ¼ tsp marshmallow root
Preparation
  • Boil water for 5 min
  • Remove from heat
  • Add spices
  • Pour water into a thermos
As a Vata type, it's best to drink the water warm, but not too hot – in sips throughout the day. Water for the Pitta Type Ingredients
  • 2 l water
  • ¼ tsp fennel seeds
  • 2 rosebuds
  • 1 clove
Preparation
  • Boil water for 2 min
  • Remove from heat
  • Add spices
  • Pour water into a thermos
As a Pitta type, you already carry a lot of warmth within you. Your water will therefore do you particularly good if you let it cool down in a cup for a while before drinking. In winter, it can be a little warmer even for Pitta types; in summer, room temperature is sufficient. Enjoy the water in sips throughout the day. Hot Water for the Kapha Type Ingredients
  • 2 l water
  • 3 basil leaves
  • 2 thin slices of fresh ginger
  • ¼ tsp cumin
  • ½ tsp fennel
Preparation
  • Boil water for 5 min
  • Remove from heat
  • Add spices
  • Pour water into a thermos
Since Kapha individuals tend to feel colder more easily, you should drink your water warm to hot. The basil, ginger, and cumin contained will also provide you with internal warmth. Drink the water in sips throughout the day. Dosha Test You don't know your Ayurvedic constitutional type yet? Our Dosha test will give you an initial orientation. to the Dosha test
