Maharishi Ayurveda Shudh Shilajit is an extraordinary combination of the power of nature and the wisdom of Ayurvedic tradition. Manufactured according to an authentic recipe.
Origin: Shilajit oozes from rocks during periods of hot weather in the lower Himalayas, the Vindhya Range, and other mountainous regions of Nepal, where iron is abundant. It flows naturally from cracks in the rocks or forms as tar, which is formed by the decomposition of plant matter in the soil.
Shilajit is a bituminous substance consisting of a compact mass of plant-based organic matter. It has a dark red, sticky, and greasy consistency and is interspersed with plant fibers, sand, and earthy components. Shilajit has a bitter taste. The black variety is most commonly used after it has been purified through complex processes.
The translation of the Sanskrit word “Shilajit” also means “conqueror of mountains and destroyer of weakness”.
The Indian physician Charaka, author of the "Charaka Samhita," praises Shilajit highly. The ancient Ayurvedic texts describe his statement that Shilajit can make the body as hard as stone and that there is no disease that cannot be cured with Shilajit.
Shilajit has been traditionally used in India for many reasons for several centuries.
It contains over 85 natural ionic minerals as well as fulvic acid*, humic acid and valuable secondary plant substances.
*Fulvic acid helps open cell walls and transport minerals deep into the cells. Without effective absorption of vitamins and minerals into the body, tissue deficiencies can occur, impairing physical and mental energy.
Shilajit consists of 60-80% organic matter, 20-40% mineral components and contains about 5% trace elements.
