Ernst Schrott offers many Ayurveda tips on nutrition, body care, and health. Perhaps you would like to try out new Ayurvedic recipe ideas? And if something aches or twinges: In the chapter "Complaints from head to toe", Dr. Schrott tells you how you can help yourself with sunburn, headaches and infections using Ayurveda.Start the day with vigor
Do you know this feeling? You know that something is good for you, but you don't have enough time for it in everyday life? Often, it is only on vacation that we find the necessary time and leisure for things that are important to us and bring us well-being. Perhaps you can use your next vacation to regularly start the day with the Ayurvedic morning routine. With it, you not only get your digestion and circulation going, but you also feel simply fresher and fitter. This way, you can enjoy your vacation even more!Time for yourself: Ayurvedic head massage
An Ayurvedic head massage is a particularly simple and effective way to pamper yourself on vacation. The conscious attention to this extremely sensitive region alone helps us to collect ourselves internally and relax. With a gentle massage, you touch body, soul, and mind equally. The gentle head massage promotes blood circulation to the scalp and nourishes and strengthens hair and scalp. It is best to massage your scalp twice a week in the morning before washing your hair with a hair oil adapted to your Dosha type:
- Vata Hair Oil for normal to dry and brittle hair
- Pitta Hair Oil for thin, fine and reddish hair as well as people with sensitive scalp
- Kapha Hair Oil for strong, slightly oily hair
Spices, mint oil and tea for unfamiliar foods
According to Ayurveda, spices can help to make difficult-to-digest or unfamiliar foods in the holiday country more tolerable. Our Churnas are particularly popular for travel, with which you can season dishes according to taste and season.
- Vata Churna: especially for Vata-promoting foods such as cabbage, broccoli, corn, legumes and salads
- Pitta Churna: as a seasoning for hot days, e.g. with tomato dishes
- Kapha Churna: Spice up your meals: Kapha Churna for spicy-hot and slightly fiery as well as heavy dishes
Dosha teas instead of cool drinks
If you long for peace, an aromatic Vata Tea should not be missing from your vacation. Regular tea consumption can help you balance an excess of Vata. Even if the temptation is great, you should not drink ice-cold drinks on hot days. To bring the cold liquids to body temperature, our organism switches into "heating mode". What we perceive as refreshing in the short term thus ultimately causes even more internal heat. From an Ayurvedic perspective, therefore, even on hot summer days, warm to lukewarm water or tea should be drunk for cooling. Particularly recommended: one to two cups of Pitta Tea per day. Try it!Sunbath without regret
Do you love the sun? Then it's best to enjoy your sunbath in the morning, when the radiation is not yet so intense. Your skin will thank you for it!
Treat yourself and your skin to a pleasantly cooling after-sun care with Aloe Vera Gel from Maharishi Ayurveda® after sunbathing. Applied externally, it is a blessing for sun-stressed skin. No matter what skin type you have: Simply rub in the Aloe Vera Gel, let it absorb, and then apply a care lotion adapted to your skin type or the Ayurvedic After Sun Skin Oil.
In addition, you can use Aloe Vera juice internally for sun-stressed skin. Drink 1 to 3 glasses of Aloe Vera juice per day. Aloe Vera juice is now available in all well-stocked drugstores.
