Warme Apfel-Hafer-Taler – ayurvedisch inspiriert und fein gewürzt
When confetti is flying outside and the scent of doughnuts wafts through the streets, it’s time for something sweet at home too. Ayurveda encourages us to celebrate with sweet treats without overburdening the body.
Carnival doesn’t have to be a culinary free-for-all.
Ayurveda shows how pleasure, joy and light-heartedness can go hand in hand – even during the carnival season.
Our warm apple and oat biscuits are a healthy alternative for Carnival:
gently sweet, easy to digest, pleasantly warming – and ready in just a few minutes.
They are reminiscent of pastries, but are made without deep-frying and without being heavy. Finely grated apple, gently fried in ghee, makes the biscuits pleasantly warm and easy to digest; the spices support Agni and add depth, and served warm, they are ideal for the winter months.
preparation
Mix the apple, rolled oats, syrup, spices and salt in a bowl.
Leave to stand briefly until a soft, mouldable mixture forms.
Gently heat the ghee in a frying pan.
Shape the mixture into small, flat patties and fry over a low to medium heat until golden brown – about 2–3 minutes per side.
Serve warm, optionally dusted with a little cinnamon.
