People with a high Kapha level should avoid eating too much or too often. Fasting has proven particularly effective for Kapha types.
Cooked, low-fat, light foods are ideal.
Kapha types should pay particular attention to spicy, bitter, and astringent flavors when choosing spices. Suitable spices include pepper, ginger, and Kapha churna.
Hot drinks such as hot ginger tea and hot ginger water are optimal for this Ayurvedic type.
Bitter, astringent, spicy, pungent, and warming scents balance excess Kapha. Aroma oils containing juniper, eucalyptus, ginger, camphor, clove, and marjoram are particularly suitable for room fragrance.
Bright, vibrant, and clear colors support the dosha balance of Kapha types particularly well.
People with a high Kapha content respond particularly well to dry massages with a Garshan massage glove .
Even if they like to sleep in, Kapha types should get up early, preferably before 6 a.m.
Are you a Kapha type? Then liven up your daily routine! Whether you cycle to work, regularly take the stairs instead of elevators and escalators, or stay active in your free time: As a Kapha type, you should ensure you get enough exercise, especially during the morning Kapha phase (6:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.). Avoiding snacks between meals and eating a dosha-appropriate diet will help counteract excess weight. Your main meal should be at lunchtime.
Sauna visits and stimulating mental activities are particularly recommended. You can find further recommendations for a type-appropriate diet in our article "Ayurvedic tips for nutrition".
