Ayurvedic "Iced" Tea

Simple & delicious: the Ayurvedic "iced" tea by Heide Maria Vendler from Austria. The base is the fine and mild Maharishi Ayurveda Pitta Tea, which has a pleasant cooling effect on hot summer days. Rounded off by the fruity-sweet aroma of elderflower syrup and the tart-fresh taste of lemon and ginger, this Ayurvedic "iced" tea tastes great not only on hot days.

Even though iced tea is traditionally a cold drink: to avoid weakening the digestive power, Ayurveda recommends avoiding ice-cold drinks even on very hot days. Therefore, enjoy our Ayurvedic "iced" tea at an appropriate temperature (cooled to room temperature).

Preparation
Slice the lemon. Place tea bags, lemon slices, ginger slices, and cinnamon stick in a heatproof pitcher. Pour boiling water over them and let steep for 30 minutes. Strain the tea, sweeten with elderflower syrup to taste, and serve warm or at room temperature as desired. The refreshing Ayurvedic "iced" tea is ready!

Our serving tip
Before filling the glasses, briefly dip the rim of the glass in a little lemon juice, let it drip off if necessary, and then dip it in spread sugar. This works particularly well with saucers filled with 1 to 2 mm of lemon juice or sugar.
Finally, cut 1 to 2 lemon slices halfway through and place them on the rim of the glass.
