Coconut-Lime Summer Drink
Refreshing. Balancing. Ayurvedic.
When the days are hot and your mind calls for clarity, you need something that cools, balances, and is light – without burdening the body. This Coconut-Lime Summer Drink combines Ayurvedic knowledge with summer enjoyment: natural minerals from coconut water, refreshing lime, and the delicate aroma of mint and cardamom. Ideal for warm days – without ice, but with a powerful effect.
Ingredients for 2 glasses
- 300 ml natural coconut water (not chilled)
- 1 tsp freshly squeezed lime juice
- 1–2 tsp Vata sugar or organic cane sugar (to taste)
- 1 pinch ground cardamom
- 1–2 tsp finely chopped fresh mint
- Optional: a hint of rose water (max. ¼ tsp)
Preparation
- Pour coconut water into a carafe or bowl.
- Stir in lime juice, sugar, cardamom, and mint.
- Let it steep briefly for the flavors to develop.
- Pour into two nice glasses.
Ayurvedic Effects
- Coconut water: cooling, rich in minerals, Pitta-reducing
- Lime: refreshing, aids digestion without irritating
- Cardamom: digestion-friendly and harmonizing
- Mint: cooling, balancing, invigorating
Serving Suggestion & Decoration
Decorate each glass with a mint leaf and a wafer-thin lime slice on the rim.
Optional: a few edible petals (e.g., cornflower or calendula) for an elegant splash of color.
Best served at room temperature – never with ice, so as not to weaken digestive power.
